Another amazing photo. We owe Mr. Kinney a debt of gratitude for taking these photos and more thanks to his son for posting them here. Real history here.

Mr. Kinney....I have lived in Hilton GA nearly all my life and as a young boy I had the pleasure of getting to know your dad. He was always a nice fellow and took time for a young railfan sitting beside the track at Hilton. I am now 52 years old and very appreciative of the photos you have taken and posted here. They really bring back a flood of memories. I have also become involved with the Columbia AL historical society and they do an outstanding job of preserving and presenting local history. They do a quarterly newsletter always featuring a prominent item from the past and an upcoming edition will feature the river crossings of the CofG near Columbia. They have asked if we could use a couple of your photos to go along with this article. There will be no income from the use of the photos and only used to present history to those interested. We would very much like your permission to use a couple of them and will of course give full credit for the photos to your father. Info

Here are a couple of shots of the old depot in Columbia that your dad would have passed hundreds of times on his trips to and from Dothan: http://www.columbiahistoricalsocietyofalabama.org/images/pg-c4_033%20Columbia%20Depot-lg.jpg and http://www.columbiahistoricalsocietyofalabama.org/images/Depot%20CofG%20RR-800.jpg
